Ride With Rebecca

The Queen of Pain, World Champion mountain bike legend, Rebecca Rusch will be back in our neck of the woods to defend her title at the Dirty Kanza 200 next week! But, before she heads to the Flint Hills she's stopping by Sunflower Outdoor and Bike Shop to knock out some miles, and she wants you to join her!

We'd love if you could join us on a gravel ride north of Lawrence to show Rebecca the area we all know and love.  Expect about 20 miles of Kansas gravel at a friendly pace.  We're always honored to have Rebecca in the house, and it's even more of a treat to share a ride with a World Champ.

Rebecca will be in the shop at 1pm to chat and sign copies of her recently published book, Rusch to Glory.  Quantities are limited though!  The ride will roll out from the shop at 2pm.

Women's Ride Day

We're excited to kick-off summer with a ladies only bike ride!  Women's Ride Day is celebrated worldwide and is a great chance to meet other women and like minded riders, no spandex required!  This ride will be led by a friendly group of Sunflower ladies that are eager to answer questions, make introductions and have a great casual ride. The route will be entirely on the levee in North Lawrence, meaning it will be simple and car-free.  No getting lost and no traffic!

The ride will meet and begin at the park benches next to the Bowersock building on the levee in North Lawrence.  There is a parking lot just across the street from the benches at the intersection of Locust and 2nd (see the map below).  The ride will leave at 6:00pm and the turnaround point is at the end of the levee to head back to town.  Please bring water and a helmet.

All skill levels and types of riders are welcome and highly encouraged!  If you have any questions or would like more information you can email us at sunfloweroutdoorandbike@gmail.com, or call us at 785-843-5000.
